Utah Valley University!!!

Well, Since I talked about SUU so much I decided I better tell you more about UVU. So I am studying music here also, and my teachers are so opposite its funny :) I have a new bass teacher, and he actually teaches the Bass! Go figure... His name is Nathan O'Bryant, and I now have etude books! A lot of people hate etudes, but when you've been deprived of them your whole music career, you really appreciate them! I also love it here because I have another great set of roommates! My room roommate is Julieann Dutson, my BFF! I have a red head roommate again, and she's great, her name is Elizabeth, but we call her Liz. The others are Kaydee, who has a really funny boyfriend, Alyxandria (Aly) but she moved away, so Rose took her place and she's great! The last roommate is Cierra and she will only be staying here til the semester ends then she's moving back to St. George. I haven't cooked as much here as I would like to but I'm super busy. My day starts out at 7 am when I go to school and practice scales, then I have conducting/ intro to music ed., then I have practice/ piano I, at 10 am I have theory III/ Aural Skills III, at 11 its either lunch or Master class, Noon I have Orchestra, 1 pm I have Biology, and I actually love it. After school I have about 2 hours then I go to work! I work at a calling center, and yes it's not that fun, but some days are definitely better than others. Besides that, I get paid whether they donate money or not! Oh, I forgot one of the best parts of my day. Every night before I go to bed, I get to spend some time with this really cute red head named Brandon. We often times just watch a movie, or cook, but its probably the best part of my day. Especially when I've had a really rough day. Anyways, this is my life in a nutshell right now!

Home Sweet Home

Well, that's what you would think. It is way nice to be home except, I have no life now! My friends were still in school, and all I do is clean my mom's house, for 4 hours, everyday...
I also have been spending alot of time with my grandparents, which is way super nice being able to talk with them and help them. While I've been home though, it snowed really hard and a big branch fell and broke their windshield on and shattered it, then that same day I decided to take Champ, our dog, and when I got there I heard my Grandma yelling help, somebody help, so I threw my orange ran into the living room and she was like I think Buckles (her pug dog) is dead. She explained the story, and what had happened was Buckles head got stuck under her hair and was choking him I luckily was able to get his head out, I had to pull his arm out then tugged at his head and he finally started to breath again, when I think he's ok I try pulling him out of the way and his leg was stuck, we thought it was broken so I went and got Grandpa out of the Shop, and he and I had to get his foot out. We got it out and today they took him to the vet's and he's going to be A-OK! ;) and so will their Van, its getting a new windshield.
My car also has decided to start to break and will be celebrating its 21st Birthday, this coming year! It's ok though it just needs a new fuel filter, and I just found out it needs a new fuel line to....yay....that's ok I have a boyfriend haha
Oh, and now Brandon, so we went to a swim meet this last weekend and we stayed in Salt Lake. While we were there we went to see the lights at the Temple and to the Gateway. While at the Temple Brandon gave me a new ring!!! No, its not an engagement ring, but its beautiful it has a little heart with a small diamond in the middle, and I LOVE IT!! :D
Tomorrow's Christmas Eve! I'm so Excited!

Mid-Term Depression

So I've come down to this accusation that I have Mid-Term Depression. I'm always like crying, and its now affecting my grades. So this morning in an attempt to get out of this depression I decided I would go running....Dont. Haha I ended up not running as much cause I'm out of shape when it comes to running and I got really lost. I did however find the sorority houses, and they are freaking huge!!! Like mansion looking dorms!! The next thing of the day is print off my paper for University 1000 class (which is really lame) and the stupid copier wouldn't accept my paper I tried like fifty times! As it finally accepted it and printed it off, it was now time for Aural Skills I. I get there and I have been doing fine, except for the time signatures, but anyways, we have another dictations quiz. I did fine I think I'm hoping so cause that would definitely lift my spirits. After Aural skills its now UNIV 1000 class, we had to perform a memorized piece. Ya....I practiced the song but did I remember anymore after about 12 measures? Of course....NOT. I felt like a shmuck but oh well people were like your so good, in my head i'm thinking hmm..i know i could've done alot better, but oh well.
Anyways I was just upset the rest of the day, and let me tell you this never, Never will I do string ensemble again. It just me a viola, two violinists, and a cellist. I'm playing the 2nd cello part and its fun but one of the violinist don't care and its so frustrating to be a Music Major and be in classes with people who just don't care. Its just like high school, all over again.
I got home, and one of my roommates is talking to herself its because she has her first exam in Anatomy I know Andrea knows whats goin on. I can't remember anything she told me but she told me what my abs were really called and it was hard to pronounce. I love that even though I'm so stressed out that I don't have classes that would kill me off (like anatomy). Well, thats my story....BLAH.

The Missing Banana

So, Today I came home in between my theory class and institute to get my laptop. While I was home I decided to get me a banana I had my banana in hand ready to go to Institute. I had peeled the banana and went to take a bite and the banana was gone! Half of my banana was gone, I looked around like where did it go?! I looked back and half of my banana was on the ground. After being sad that my banana had fallen i kicked it onto the grass and finished the rest of banana with pleasure trying not to wreck while driving my bike one handed. Afterwords, I was tell Rebecca what had happened and she was like dang I wish I could have seen the whole thing. Can you just imagine, me driving my bike, stopping, looking around all confused, then walk my bike backwards get off kick the banana into the grass get on my bike then ride off eating the rest of my banana. Bahaha, that would've have been hilarious I wish I could've seen it outside of myself!!!

Grades

I have never been the type to freak out about a grade, but the world has been set straight because, I have been doing so well in all of my classes! I messed up on a couople of my assignments. I asked the teacher if I could redo them and she was like its going to be ok sarah, the assignments you messed up on won't hurt your grade. I give thousands of points and few you missed aren't going to hurt your grade. Ya, ya....I know dumb but, I'm really trying hard to succeed in College!

College Rocks!

I love college! I have awesome roommates :] My room roommate is Rebecca Dabelko, I also have TaraKay Thorlacher, Rikki Lybyer and Kapua Adolfo. Kapua means flower from where she lives! We are always so busy though so we rarely see eachother. I love my music classes they are so fun, in fact I had my first exam for Aural Skills and I think I conquered it! Orhcestra wasn't quite what I was expecting so I joined Orchestra of Southern Utah and I am hopefully going to be going to China for 2 weeks this Summer Touring with them and playing with a Chinese Orchestra! I've been running in the mornings and thats impressive for me cause before I came to college I would have never considered myself a runner, but here I am running :) I don't really know what else to write about for now but I'll try to keep up on everything haha Good Luck with that...
